We at Proba are proud to share that Proba has received Conditional Endorsement from the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA) for our carbon crediting programme!
This recognition confirms that Proba meets ICROA’s Carbon Crediting Programme Endorsement Review Criteria (v3.5), with the temporary exception of the scale requirement. Our standard enables project developers to quantify, verify, and issue Scope 3 Emission Reduction Certificates from fertilizer-related interventions in the agri-food sector. These certificates help support insetting business models and enable co-financing across value chains to scale decarbonization efforts.
What Conditional Endorsement Means
To achieve full endorsement, Proba will need to reach at least ten registered projects and issue over 100,000 tCO₂e in carbon certificates. We are well on track to meet this threshold.
While ICROA has traditionally focused on offsetting, this endorsement reinforces the importance of insetting, and affirms that our approach to supply chain emissions reduction meets high standards of environmental integrity, transparency, and impact.
Recognition from ICROA
Franco Sebastián D’Aprile, ICROA Programme Manager, shared:
“Congratulations to the Proba team on achieving ICROA Conditional Endorsement. Throughout the application and review process, Proba welcomed feedback and used it to enhance and strengthen their programme. We’re delighted they can now showcase their commitment to integrity through the ICROA label.”
A milestone for Proba
Proba COO Rutger Beens commented:
“This is an important milestone for Proba. The Conditional Endorsement by ICROA demonstrates that our programme already meets their rigorous criteria for environmental integrity, transparency, and impact: all cornerstones of a credible voluntary carbon market. It validates our approach and signals trust from one of the most recognized alliances in the industry.”
