This project recovers end-of-life and off-spec rubber (tyre rubber compound waste, technical compound waste, and vulcanized rubber) at Bencros's facility in Lužianky, Slovakia, and reprocesses it into specification-grade secondary compound used to manufacture marine fenders, and from 2026 unvulcanized rubber compound sold to third-party buyers. Each tonne of recovered product substitutes a tonne of the equivalent virgin product on a one-to-one basis. The project delivers two independent reduction mechanisms: avoided cradle-to-gate emissions from displaced virgin rubber production, and avoided fossil CO2 from rubber waste that would otherwise be incinerated. The verified reductions are claimed within the value chain by the buyers of Bencros products under the insetting pathway of PM.0006.
