Methodology webinar: Adoption of nitrogen stabilizers to transition to low carbon agriculture

Nitrogen stabilizers are one of the most promising fertilizer emission mitigation tools. They reduce nitrous oxide emissions by slowing the chemical reactions that cause nitrogen losses from fertilizers. They’re already available, widely studied, and don’t require farmers to overhaul their practices.

That’s why Proba and the International Fertilizer Association (IFA) have developed a new greenhouse gas (GHG) methodology focused on the adoption of nitrogen stabilizers. The goal is simple: make it easier for fertilizer producers, food companies, and farmer cooperatives to support and verify climate action through insetting.

Our sustainability engineer Konstantinos Dimitriou and Achim Dobermann, Chief Scientist from the International Fertilizer Association, gave a walk through this methodology.
